I'm a stepmom and when I married my husband, who was a widower, there were three families to consider at every holiday ritual time. So, together we had to figure out what "we" wanted and then discuss these with the kids and families. Relationships can be fractured and we do not all live in the same town or city as we once did. We still need to come together at times of our greatest joys and deepest sorrows.
